Excellent location, an ideal base for a hiking trip. Property has recently been renovated and it’s clear how much investment (in terms of time, energy and money) has gone into it. Room so immaculate, really comfortable and modern. Breakfast was good with a variety of options.

And Jess, the host, couldn’t have been more helpful. We had a great time and look forward to staying at Carrick Gate again in the future.

We stayed in this beautiful guesthouse where everything was perfect. The room was very comfortable and spotlessly clean. The Breakfast room is very cosy and tastefully furnished with a great variety of breads, Danish pastries, fresh fruit, cereals and much more. Great location with a lot of things to see and do.

A special thanks to our wonderful host Jessica who made our stay very pleasant and provided us with everything we needed.

Carrick Gate is situated in the perfect spot in South Donegal, a stone’s throw from Slieve League, Malin Beg and the heritage folk village.

The interior decor is beautiful, the breakfast was generous, and the rooms very quiet and comfortable. I slept and ate very well!

The staff are personable and warm, which ultimately makes any stay.

If the parking runs out outside the hotel (space for about 4 cars), there is space just over the bridge to park.

For our first trip to Ireland, we chose one of the most spectacular areas to visit. Our stay at Carrick Gate was delightful, great breakfast, clean, comfortable room, accommodating staff as well as a lovely patio by a stream, highly recommend!!

Karen and I have cycled many, many miles in beautiful places in the US, however it is difficult to find a more beautiful area than this. The folks are so friendly too, and we love the pubs! Thanks for the memories.
